Las Vegas Aces star and three-time MVP A’ja Wilson teased teammate Chelsea Gray as the Duke Blue Devils won over the South Carolina Gamecocks. With the win, Wilson touched back on what appears to be an old friendly wager with teammate Gray.
On her post over at Threads, A’Ja Wilson called out Chelsea Gray after Duke won over the Gamecocks.
She posted: “Duke won but Chels still gotta wear her gamecock gear 🤭”
While not specified, fans believe that this is a call back to a time back in December 2024 when the Gamecocks won over Duke with a final score of 81-70.
The rivalry between Duke and UNC in men’s and women’s basketball is one of the most intense and storied in college sports. The two universities, located just eight miles apart along Tobacco Road, have a long history of fierce competition.

The men’s teams have met over 260 times since their first game in 1920, with North Carolina leading the all-time series. Both programs have consistently been among the nation’s elite, combining numerous ACC titles and NCAA championships. In women’s basketball, the rivalry is equally intense, with both teams regularly competing for top spots in the ACC.

A’ja Wilson on WNBA CBA Issue: “I Feel We Can Make Things Work”
When asked about her take on the ongoing and hot issue of the WNBA Collective Bargaining Agreement and how it could trigger a work stoppage in the league, A’ja Wilson shut down any fears of a strike happening from within players, as she expressed her faith in the issue that this is is something that can be discussed without any extreme measures.
“I feel like we can make things work,” Wilson said, according to one reporter. “It’s going to take a lot, but I don’t even want to say that or think that.”
“We shouldn’t even have to get to that point.”
The issue came to light of a controversial statement that came from Chicago Sky star ANgel Reese, who said in one of the recent episodes of her podcast that there are talks from within the league that may be pointing to people sitting out games should a new Collective Bargaining Agreement is not reached.
“Yeah, the CBA is coming up,” Reese said on the podcast episode. “We deserve more. Everybody, everybody. But we have to face the consequences? The women coming in next year are probably gonna be making more than us. I gotta get in the meetings. Because I’m hearing… If y’all don’t give us what we want, we sitting out.”

Currently, A’ja Wilson’s WNBA salary is reportedly to be at $200,000 a year.
