Alex Sarr joined Podcast P on Monday to talk about his basketball journey, and during the episode, Paul George compared the 19-year-old to none other than the Greek Freak, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“I like the Giannis comparison, I like the Giannis that is one of your favorite players, because I kind of see a similar play style with the ability to get it off the rim, push and transition, handle it, create,” George said. “I think he’s like him. Giannis is the prototype of a big man that you play through. So I love that comparison. I think he is a lot similar to how Giannis plays, in the play style of Giannis.”

Alex Sarr shares similar traits with the Milwaukee Bucks superstar because of their unique physical profile and versatility on both ends of the floor. Sarr is listed at 7’1″ and 216 pounds, while Antetokounmpo is 6’11” and 243 pounds.
Alex Sarr likely to go to the Atlanta Hawks
Unless the Atlanta Hawks go in a completely different direction, they are expected to use the No. 1 overall pick to get Alex Sarr in this summer’s NBA Draft. And once they get the Frenchman, the Atlanta Hawks are expected to offload Clint Capela.

Alex Sarr only averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game on 51.6 percent shooting from the field while playing for the Perth Wildcats in the NBL this past season, but his defensive potential and readiness for the NBA put him above the rest of the pack ahead of the 2024 Draft.
“I would say my versatility on both sides of the court, it gives you room to play different types of schemes and I can like fit a lot of these schemes,” Sarr said on Podcast P on what he brings to the table.
