Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston recently experienced her name being misspelled by one reporter but instead of getting offended by it, the former Gamecocks star addressed the slip-up in the lightest way possible.
One sports reporter over at X recently posted a short post-game interview with South Carolina Gamecocks guard Bree Hall, who spoke fondly of Boston and thanked her for the help she gave.
While the interview itself ended up being a straightforward conversation, the caption was what caught the attention of fans and even Boston herself. The caption of the posted quoted Hall, but something was off in how it was typed.
The caption read: “I have to give a shoutout to Ayhilah Boston. Ayhilah, I love you girl. You are amazing. Thank you so much for helping me this game.”
Fans were quick to spot that Boston’s first name was misspelled by the reporter who uploaded the video.
Apparently, this was not the first time that Aliyah Boston had her name misspelled, but she admitted that it was still a first for her in some aspects.

Boston shared the post, adding in her own comment.
She said: “I have never seen my name spelled this way 😂 BUT breezy you know I got you and God is always in the midst.”

The South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team has made it to the 2025 NCAA Women’s Final Four. They secured their spot with a hard-fought 54-50 victory over Duke in the Elite Eight. This marks their fifth consecutive Final Four appearance.
Were Aliyah Boston and Bree Hall Ever Teammates?
Aliyah Boston and Bree Hall were teammates at the University of South Carolina, playing for the Gamecocks under head coach Dawn Staley. Together, they contributed to the team’s dominance in women’s college basketball, including winning the 2022 NCAA National Championship. Boston, known for her rebounding and defensive prowess, was a cornerstone of the team, while Hall brought versatility and sharpshooting to the lineup.

Their partnership on the court was marked by mutual respect and a shared commitment to excellence. Boston’s leadership and Hall’s growth as a player complemented each other, helping the Gamecocks maintain their status as one of the top programs in the nation. Even after Boston moved on to the WNBA, their bond remained strong, with Boston often supporting Hall as she continued her collegiate career.
Aliyah Boston was drafted as the 1st overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. Hall, however, is expected to declare for the 2025 WNBA Draft.
