Angel Reese is one teammate who not only does not back down from anyone or any situation, but she also “talks mess” a lot of the time. At least, this what was her Unrivaled teammate Chelsea Gray revealed about her.
In her recent appearance in the “Run It Back” podcast by FanDuel, Las Vegas Aces star Chelsea Gray praised Angel Reese for her trait of “not ducking” anything that comes her way, be it criticism, backlash, or anything in between.
“She’s not ducking the smoke during the game,” Gray said. “She’s gonna talk mess all the time, and that’s just her. So, I’m ready for it, and I’m gonna play against her. I’m gonna go ham on her if she tries to say anything to me.”
“She’s the ultimate hype man. Every time,” Gray said. “A and-1, a nice block, a nice assist, she’s gonna be the first person loud. Hopefully, she’s not mic’d up too many times, she’s probably hurt people’s ears back there.”
Chelsea Gray and Angel Reese have built a strong bond as teammates in Unrivaled, the new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league, where they both play for the Rose Basketball Club. Their chemistry on the court has been a key factor in their team’s success, with Gray’s playmaking and Reese’s dominant presence complementing each other perfectly. Off the court, their friendship has grown through shared experiences and mutual respect for each other’s talents.
However, once the Unrivaled season ends, they will return to being rivals in the WNBA, where Gray plays for the Las Vegas Aces and Reese represents the Chicago Sky.
Angel Reese Responds to Backlash Over WNBA Lockout Comment
Only recently, Angel Reese once again faced backlash, this time over her statement that implied a looming lockout within the WNBA, if a new Collective Bargaining Agreement is not reached.
In a post on X, Reese clapped back at his critics, who she called as people with “selective hearing.
“I love how y’all have selective hearing,” Reese said in her post. “I said ‘I’m hearing if they don’t give us what we want, we sitting out’ and that’s the truth. I never said anything about the NBA. We are prepared to stay at the negotiating table for as long as it takes.”

Angel Reese, since then, has received a mix of criticism and support, with her colleagues from the WNBA helping her clarify her case on the topic.
