Angel Reese will play for the upcoming women’s basketball league Unrivaled and will have the chance to play alongside players she has not yet had a chance to play with, and a new coach that will handle them: Nola Henry. Ahead of the start of the league, Reese’s new coach opened up about what she has to say about the Chicago Sky star.
Angel Reese would play under Henry’s coaching alongside five other players: Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Cooper, Brittney Sykes, Lexie Hull, and Azura Stevens. They would be collectively known as Team Rose.
In her recent interview with SB Nation, Henry highlighted how she thinks Reese could benefit from getting influence from her future teammates, particularly from Chelsea Gray.
“I think Chelsea Gray will definitely help Angel’s development,” Henry said. “It’ll speed up her development, not just from a leadership standpoint, but also understanding the angles of the floor, and understanding screening.”
Henry also acknowledged one aspect where she saw Reese had repeatedly proven she is good at—rebounding.
“For Angel, it doesn’t matter, 3-on-3, 5-on-5, college, WNBA — she’s an incredible rebounder, right?” Henry said. “I expect to see rebounding from her, that’s just what she’s done her entire career.”
The coach also pointed out defense as something she would have an opportunity to improve on, as she would have to guard good offensive players.
She added: “Also, back to the basket, being able to guard some of the other really good post players in Unrivaled—Phee, Stewie—she’ll get a daily, or a nightly, challenge of guarding some of the best players in the WNBA, whether they are guards, whether they are post players.”
Angel Reese Claps Back at Online Hater
While you cannot definitely please everyone, that is not to say that you cannot clap back at haters on social media. That was what Angel Reese did when one user over at X, who called her out over her shooting skills.
“[You] realize [you] can’t make a lay up on the first try most times, right,” the user told Reese.
Reese did not waste any time and did not hold any of her words when she clapped back to the user.
She said: “Do you realize I got drafted 7th in my class while ‘missing layups’ as a ROOKIE shooting 39% on the year & was STILL [a] All-Star and that was the worst you’ll ever see me?”

She did not let it end there and added a personal touch to her response: “Or you just laid up with your dog at home hating?”
Angel Reese will play with Team Rose on Unrivaled in January 2025.
