Unfortunately, Angel Reese experienced her 18th loss in the current WNBA season after losing in a close match against the Las Vegas Aces. Her contributions to her team during that game were her usual significant plays, as she gained another double-double and whopping rebounds.
However, these feats weren’t challenging for the 2024 WNBA All-Star. Despite this, some people still doubt her capabilities. Reese would pay attention to this. After the game against the Aces, she struck back against her criticisms and bashed them in her recent post on Twitter/X.
“If it was easy, everybody would be doing it. we good! #skytown.”
Throughout their whole match against the Aces, Reese’s Chicago Sky was leading. However, they suddenly faced the clutches of their opponents, led by A’Ja Wilson. In fact, Las Vegas would even take the lead in the game’s final moments if it weren’t for Chennedy Carter’s three-pointer.
In the final seconds of the fourth quarter, the score was a tie, 75-all. Everyone would expect overtime at this point. However, a game-shattering layup from Wilson secured her team’s win. This resulted in Reese’s Sky facing their third straight loss this season.
People would expect Reese to contribute offense to her team that night. However, she performed poorly in that area, only scoring 11 points with a terrible four-out-of-16 shooting. As usual, she’s gaining tons of rebounds, with 22. Twelve of those were from the defense.
The 22-year-old is facing a deep struggle. Despite gaining exceptional individual stats, Reese’s team, the Sky, is on the brink of ending up in an awful spot at the end of the regular season. They are in third place in the Eastern Conference and eighth overall in the WNBA.
The Sky desperately needs to break free from its losing streak. They would face the Washington Mystics next, in last place in the Eastern Conference. After that, Reese would contend against her fellow rising rookie, Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever.
Angel Reese needs to step up further for her team.
There’s no doubt that Angel Reese is contributing significantly to her team. Despite her excellent stats, all of those remain futile in putting the Chicago Sky in a good position in the current conference.
The LSU Tigers alumnus needs more miraculous plays to carry her team toward a better spot when the regular season concludes in September.
With her teammates’ contributions, such as Carter, Marina Mabrey, and more, Reese still has a chance to gain more wins for the Sky.
