Rising rookie Angel Reese continues to display her exceptional skills for the Chicago Sky. However, her capabilities must be more significant to give her team crucial wins. Because of this, people criticized Reese, wondering if she would really guide her team for the current and following seasons.

Despite these persisting doubts, WNBA legend Rebecca Lobo says otherwise. She remains supporting the 2024 WNBA All-Star. Given her statistics, Lobo believes that Reese can still contribute significantly to her team despite stiff challenges and losses.

“Some of her critics like to say, you know, ‘Well, she gets a lot of offensive rebounds off of her own misses.’ Well, our stats and information group looked that up. If you take away all of the offensive rebounds off her own misses, guess what? She’s still leading the league in offensive rebounds per game. She has been historically remarkable on the glass.”

Reese and the Chicago Sky recently suffered an unfortunate loss against the Las Vegas Aces. The LSU Tigers’ alumni team led the game throughout. However, they immediately broke down when their opponents made a comeback in the fourth quarter.

The buzzer-beater layup by the Aces’ A’Ja Wilson secured Sky’s eighteenth loss in the regular season. This was a heavy loss for Reese’s team at a dangerous spot in the standings, placing at eighth overall.

In scoring that game, the 2023 NCAA Most Outstanding Player of the Year performed poorly. Out of sixteen attempts, she only scored four on them, equivalent to eleven points. She was in court for 37 minutes.

Reese might be obtaining tons of rebounds; for instance, she had 22 rebounds against the Aces. She is even leading the WNBA in rebounds. However, these are nothing for the critics due to her poor offense output.

For 29 games throughout the regular season, Reese averaged 13.5 points. This still pales, considering how many times she’s attempting to make a shot. She only averages 38.7% on field goals and 18.2% from downtown.

Angel Reese needs to prove her critics wrong.

The Chicago Sky still have eleven more games before concluding the regular season at the end of September. Speaking of this, Angel Reese still has more chances to prove the strikes of her bashers wrong.

The 2023 NCAA Champion needs to practice her offense. Coupled with her already polished defense, she would rise as a threatening rookie for their opponents.

The Sky would get an easy chance to win in their next game against the Washington Mystics on August 29th.
