“Their excitement about me is extremely refreshing,” she said. “It’s nice to go somewhere where people believe in you. That’s what every player wants.”
Sky, Angel Reese to Play Season Opener in New Location
In a recent announcement, the Chicago Sky management moved the venue of the tip-off game for their 2025 season against the Indiana Fever to the United Center.

The United Center is located in the Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago, which is different from the Sky’s usual home at Wintrust Arena in the South Loop. This change in location offers fans a new and exciting experience, as the United Center is a well-known sports venue that hosts the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks.
The United Center is a state-of-the-art facility with top-notch amenities, including high-quality seating, advanced lighting and sound systems, and excellent sightlines for spectators. The venue’s reputation for hosting major sporting events and concerts ensures that fans will enjoy a premium experience.

The venue is also significantly larger than Wintrust Arena. While Wintrust Arena has a seating capacity of around 10,000, the United Center can accommodate over 20,000 fans for basketball games.
“Given the explosive growth in the WNBA, we now have a first-ever opportunity to invite more fans to experience this matchup at a larger venue of the United Center,” Adam Fox, Sky President and CEO said. “Chicago Sky fans have consistently shown up for the team and the city, and we want to reward their passion and dedication by bringing this excitement to an expanded capacity.”

The Chicago Sky will open the 2025 WNBA season with a game against the Indiana fever. Woith this, fans have bene excited to open the new season with a fresh take on the long-time rivalry between Agnel Reese and Fever’s Caitlin Clark.
