Angel Reese publicly invited actor and record producer Michael Rainey Jr. to one of the games of the Chicago Sky and made him promise to wear his jersey while getting courtside seats.
Actor Michael Rainey Jr., known for his role in “Power Book II: Ghost,” recently appeared on Angel Reese’s podcast, “Unapologetically Angel.” Part of his appearance in the podcast was a WNBA trivia challenge. Reese, in the challenge, quizzed Rainey on his knowledge of the league, asking him to name five current WNBA players.
Rainey confidently started by naming Reese herself and Skylar Diggins-Smith of the Seattle Storm. However, he struggled to continue and could only come up with the now-retired Diana Taurasi, falling short of the required five names.
Reese took the opportunity to call out Rainey’s lack of WNBA knowledge. She invited him to attend a Chicago Sky game courtside during the next WNBA season to improve his understanding of the league. Rainey accepted the invitation, even promising to wear a jersey with Reese’s name on it while watching the game.
“When we play in New York I’m going to invite you to the game,” Reese said. “You better come to the game. It’s in May I believe. Free up your schedule, courtside. Y’all heard him [wearing my jersey].”

Angel Reese has been teasing her plans for the 2025 Met Gala, where she will be part of the host committee. Reese shared an intriguing message on Instagram, hinting at a major surprise for the gala. Reese made her debut at the 2024 Met Gala, which coincided with her 22nd birthday, making the event even more special. She flew to New York on a private jet, starting her glam process en route to the event.
For the occasion, Reese wore a stunning custom gown by 16Arlington, inspired by the brand’s Fall 2023 collection. The dress featured a sequin bodice layered with a delicate lace cover, forming a low V-neck, floor-length gown.
The look was completed with a halo of ostrich feathers encircling her waist, adding a touch of elegance and aligning perfectly with the night’s theme, “The Garden of Time.” Reese accessorized with custom Stuart Weitzman shoes and jewelry by Bernard James, Briony Raymond, and Material Good.
Angel Reese expressed her excitement about attending the Met Gala, highlighting how meaningful it was to be embraced by the fashion industry as a female athlete.
