After etching her name in the history books of the Unrivaled Basketball League, Angel Reese left Miami on Friday. After spending four months in the 305 playing for the Rose BC in the inaugural season of the women’s 3×3 tournament and becoming the league’s first-ever champion, the Chicago Sky star was ready to go back home.
On her Instagram story, Reese shared a picture from inside a car as she bade farewell to her fans in the Magic City.
“Bye Miami,” said Reese in her caption to the IG story. “It’s been a long four months and it’s time to go.”
Angel Reese dominated the 3×3 league on both ends of the court, living up to her “double-double machine” moniker. She averaged 13.3 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game for the entire season. She was named Unrivaled Defensive Player of the Year and helped her teammates Chelsea Gray and Kahleah Copper to a great run in the 3×3 format.
Unfortunately, while she became a champion, Reese was unable to participate in the semifinal and final matches due to a wrist injury. Her teammates still managed to come through without her as they defeated the Laces BC (63-57) in the semifinal game and the Vinyl BC (62-54) in the finals, becoming the first-ever Unrivaled champions.

Angel Reese seemed to throw shade at the WNBA after her Unrivaled team Rose BC became the 3×3 league’s inaugural champions. The Chicago Sky star expressed her excitement about the $50.000 bonus she will receive following their championship win.

Indiana Fever veteran Sydney Colson replied to Reese’s X post, jokingly asking Reese if she needed help in getting rid of the bonus money she won. Reese replied in jest, but with also a hint of shade at the women’s league.
“Hey sista. I’m doing well. Just won 50k on a flight. I know you are VERY aware and I’m sorry to break it to you but I’m on a rookie contract and that 50k was a little more than half of my contract so I have to keep that to myself,” Reese replied to Colson. “Sorry. Give me a few years and I gotchu. Be well.”

Reese has been vocal about her criticism on the salary discrepancy between players in the NBA and the WNBA. She recently remarked about hearing talks of a strike if the WNBA didn’t meet its players’ demands during the CBA negotiations.
