Julian Reese, a standout player for the Maryland Terrapins, has been selected to participate in the prestigious 71st Annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (P.I.T.). This event, which gathers the nation’s top college seniors, serves as a platform for players to showcase their skills in front of professional scouts, agents, and fans.

Reese’s selection highlights his impressive collegiate career, where he became one of only two players in Maryland’s history to achieve over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

During his four years at Maryland, Reese played in 134 games, starting in 102 of them, and recorded 1,488 points, 1,015 rebounds, and 179 blocks. His senior season was particularly remarkable, as he averaged 13.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, helping Maryland reach the NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time since 2016.

Reese’s consistent performance earned him three All-Big Ten Honorable Mention selections, making him one of the program’s most decorated players.

The P.I.T., which has been held annually since 1953, is a key event in the NBA draft process and has featured many legendary players over the years. Reese’s participation in this four-day tournament provided him with an opportunity to further impress scouts and potentially boost his professional basketball prospects.

Angel Reese Gets New Teammates Following 2025 WNBA Draft

Angel Reese is welcoming new teammates following the 2025 WNBA Draft. The Sky made notable moves to strengthen their roster, selecting Slovenian forward Ajša Sivka with the 10th pick and guard Hailey Van Lith with the 11th pick.

Sivka, known for her shooting and defensive skills, brings international experience and versatility to the team. Meanwhile, Van Lith, Reese’s former LSU teammate, adds leadership and scoring prowess, having had a stellar collegiate career at TCU.

The reunion of Angel Reese and Van Lith is particularly exciting, as their chemistry from their LSU days is expected to enhance the Sky’s on-court dynamics. Reese expressed her enthusiasm on social media, highlighting the potential of their partnership to elevate the team’s performance. Both players are seen as key pieces in the Sky’s rebuilding efforts after missing the playoffs last season.
