Angel Reese, Chicago Sky forward, has been rocking it in her podcast this year. Reese started ‘Unapologetically Angel’ only a few months back and already the show has gathered millions of fans and subscribers. The main reasons for the podcast’s success are because of Reese’s openness and brutal honesty, along with the many celebs who have graced the episodes.
Most recently, Reese had rapper Sexxy Redd on the show. and discussed several interesting topics, including Redd’s own sporting days. Back in her day, Sexxy Redd, whose actual name is Janae Nierah Wherry, played volleyball and Reese was curious to know which position the rapper played. When Redd confessed that she didn’t exactly remember, Reese went on to invite the rapper to one of her games.
Redd then commented that she did try to go to the basketball game, but couldn’t because of her busy schedule, and vowed to make time. Reese definitely was pleased and promised her courtside seats if she came. She also went on to jokingly tell Sexxy Redd not to go to any NBA game.
“You don’t be going to NBA games,” Angel Reese told Sexxy Redd on ‘Unapologetically Angel’
Angel Reese and Sexxy Redd also discussed what they both would do after the game. Redd went on to invite Reese to her recording studio and also remarked that she would love it if Reese spoke in one of her songs.
Angel Reese’s Ad With Reebok, Adds Fuel To Caitlin Clark Rivalry Fire
Prominent sportswear brand, Reebok, has struck a multi-year deal with the WNBA and recently put up an ad featuring Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky. The simple yet effective ad has churned out yet another trending term on social media called ‘The Angel Reese Effect’. However, the Reebok ad also started up another wave of the Angel Reese vs Caitlin Clark rivalry online.
While plenty of WNBA fans lauded their appreciation about the Reebok ad, which smartly combines sports, female empowerment, and black culture, others had negative things to say. Some fans highlighted that Reese’s stats on the court are definitely not on par with Clark’s, and the former simply has more Instagram followers than the latter.
Also, Caitlin Clark has been outshining Angel Reese in terms of merchandise sales and game attendance percentages, as per another fan. This is partly true since Reese’s rookie season did not bring up the expected stats, but still, the star has continued to shine mainly due to her ‘unapologetic’ persona online.
