Angel Reese includes Sheryl Swoopes and more in her Mt. Rushmore of WNBA players. Reese, who’s yet to disclose her best figures, finally tells them in an episode of Lonzo Ball’s “What an Experience” podcast.
The first in the “Chi-Town Barbie’s” favorite players is three-time champion Candace Parker, revealed to be her childhood figure.
“Probably Candace Parker,” Reese said.
Reese then revealed the other three:
“No order probably, I’mma say Sheryl Swoopes, I’mma say Candace Parker; I’mma say Diana Taurasi… It’s a lot of great players. I’mma say Lisa Leslie,” the Chicago Sky star added.
Angel Reese previously complimented Sheryl Swoopes during the previous season. After the game against the Las Vegas Aces, Reese captured moments with Swoopes in her past Instagram stories.
The former LSU Tiger shared her experience with Swoopes in a message.
“Tears, laughter and smiles with the GOAT today was much needed. Love you forever @airswoopes22,” Reese said in her Instagram story.
Reese’s Mt. Rushmore of WNBA players made significant records in the league. Swoopes, in particular, is a four-time consecutive champion and three-time MVP throughout her stint with the Houston Comets.
Parker, Angel Reese’s youth idol, is a two-time MVP. She is also a five-time champion in a women’s basketball league in Russia.
Meanwhile, Taurasi is a three-time champion and plays for the Phoenix Mercury at 42. Conversely, Leslie is a two-time champion and a three-time MVP during her stint with the Los Angeles Sparks.
Angel Reese compliments her college coach’s intensity, admits to being “tested”
Angel Reese is known for winning the national championship with the LSU Tigers in 2023. Despite her short stint with the team, she provided record-breaking stats, coupled with the help of head coach Kim Mulkey. Reese shared her experiences with her former coach, revealing that Mulkey’s infamous coaching put her to the test.
After the Tigers’ victory against the Stanford Cardinals, Mulkey highlighted how she brings intensity to her players in the post-game interview, proving effective as her team remains undefeated in Division I.
Angel Reese caught up with the interview. On her X/Twitter account, she shared a clip of Mulkey’s interview with a caption:
“don’t come to LSU if you don’t want to rethink this hoop life cause you will be battle tested. happened time after time but definitely sooo worth it!!!” Reese tweeted.
