With a large following on and off social media, Angel Reese gets a lot of attention, both positive and negative. She recently came in the news, seemingly demanding that players in the WNBA should be paid as much as their male contemporaries in the NBA.
Several news outlets claimed that Reese had threatened to sit out the next season if her demands were not met in the new CBA. However, a Reese supporter has come forward to debunk the news, revealing that news outfits like Yahoo Sports had twisted Reese’s words to fuel the hate against the Chicago Sky star.
X user “@ill_name_this_x” pointed out in his video that Reese had never spoken of any threat about sitting the league out, replaying a clip from her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast with DiJonai Carrington.
“I’m hearing, ‘if they don’t give us what we want, we sitting out,’” Reese said in the original clip, as reposted by the X user. He claimed that “something deeper was at play” with the news outlets taking out the words “I’m hearing” from Reese’s statement.
Even @YahooSports got on the @Reese10Angel hate train ! Why do people hate Angel Reese so much ????? #angelreese pic.twitter.com/zCqqxEH9Zx

Angel Reese, who had previously clarified her comments on social media, reposted the fan’s video, remarking that people have lied just for engagement.
“For someone they ‘hate’ so much, literally be having them so riled up…Having to tell lies for engagement is [crazy] work,” Reese said in her caption for the reposted clip.

Angel Reese’s work ethic gets high praise from Rose BC
Since Angel Reese started playing in the inaugural season of the Unrivaled Basketball League, many have given high praise for the “Bayou Barbie,” including veteran player Brittney Sykes and WNBA legend Lisa Leslie. The latest one to give Reese her flowers was Nola Henry, the Dallas Wings assistant coach and her current head coach at Unrivaled’s Rose BC.
“She’s just a dawg. She just works, she’s relentless,” Henry said. “I’d say it’s the mentality that she backs up by her effort. She refuses to be denied, she refuses to be stopped. If there’s any weakness, she’ll focus in on that.”

Reese has used the chance to learn from her veteran teammates as she plays at Unrivaled. She also had the opportunity to work with Leslie to improve her layup game.
