Angel Reese hails from Baltimore, Maryland. She attended St. Frances Academy, a powerhouse high school in Baltimore, where she excelled in basketball and earned numerous accolades, including being named The Baltimore Sun’s Player of the Year twice.
The Maryland Terrapins faced a tough challenge against the top-seeded Florida Gators in the Sweet 16, ultimately falling 87-71. Despite the loss, Julian Reese stood out with a solid performance, contributing 12 points, a team-high eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 32 minutes of play.

Reese’s efforts were evident early in the game, as he opened with a steal and back-to-back baskets, keeping Maryland within striking distance during the first half. His rebounding and defensive presence helped the Terrapins stay competitive, trailing by just two points, 40-38, at halftime.
His ability to create opportunities for his teammates and secure possessions emphasized his importance to the team, even as they were unable to win.
Angel Reese gets Support from Unrivaled Teammate
Angel Reese, in the past weeks, has received backlash from fans over her controversial statement about the possibility of a lockout if a new Collective Bargaining Agreement within the WNBA is not reached. However, she got support from Unrivaled teammate Chelsea Gray, who echoed her sentiments, with a few clarifications.
“We’re not asking to be paid the same,” Gray said during her appearance in an episode of “Run It Back”. “We’re asking for a revenue share. The world is ready for women’s sports to explode. How do you not have the best league in the world out there and playing?”

The WNBA players are demanding better pay and working conditions as the CBA negotiations continue.

Chelsea Gray and Angel Reese were teammates on Rose BC during the inaugural season of Unrivaled, the new 3v3 women’s basketball league. Together, they led their team to the league’s first championship, with Gray earning Finals MVP honors and Reese showcasing her rebounding prowess and energy on the court.

Following Unrivaled, Angel Reese is now preparing to get back to WNBA action as the 2025 season opens in May.
