If there’s ever a need for someone to square up with a gorilla (for whatever reason), Unrivaled coach Nola Henry knows exactly who she’s calling — Chicago Sky star Angel Reese.
In a playful response to a viral “Who would you pick to fight a gorilla?” challenge, Henry confidently named Reese, newly acquired Dallas Wings center Teaira McCowan, and Atlanta Dream’s Brittney Griner as her top three. Henry, who just joined the Wings as an assistant coach, kept it short and hilarious as she walked out the door:
“Is BG included? Big T, Angel. Yeah, I got my money on the players.”
The shoutout may have been meant to hype up the “Bayou Barbie,” but Reese wasn’t having any of it. She reposted the viral video on social media and replied in the most Angel way possible:
“are you crazy? i wouldn’t dare get out there with a gorilla… like are you cool??? @777NRH”

Angel Reese & Hailey Van Lith Reunite — and Dance It Out
The lighthearted vibes didn’t stop there for Angel Reese. The second-year forward was all smiles during Chicago Sky’s recent media day, where she reunited with her former LSU teammate Hailey Van Lith. The chemistry was on full display as the duo turned the shoot into a dance-off, joined by fellow teammates Maddy Westbeld and Michaela Onyenwere.

Clearly, the bond between Reese and Van Lith has carried over into the pros, and the energy they brought to LSU seems to be making its way to the Windy City. The Sky are hoping their on-and-off-court connection will spark something big in the 2025 WNBA season.
“We’re just having fun with it,” one insider said during the shoot. “Angel and Hailey bring this electric energy — and that’s infectious for the whole team.”

While the dance moves are fun and the vibes are strong, the grind is about to begin. The Chicago Sky will open their 2025-26 WNBA regular season on Tuesday with a matchup against the Minnesota Lynx. All eyes will be on Reese, Van Lith, and this reloaded Sky squad as they look to make waves in the new season.
