On Saturday, former Los Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook played at the Crypto.com Arena for the first time this season and had a decent outing. Westbrook had 14 points and 11 assists off the bench, giving the Denver Nuggets a boost to capture the 127-102 win. Following the game, his former teammate, Anthony Davis credited the point guard’s energy as the push the Nuggets had to give them the win.
Westbrook brought energy to win against his former team, to the point of talking trash to Davis. During the second quarter, the 2017 MVP was called for the clear path foul on LeBron James. The explosive guard then spoke with Davis for a while and called the big man a “soft a** n***a.”
AD went back to the guard and told him to stop fouling. While James was making his free shots, the two kept saying the same thing to each other.
Later in the game, Westbrook hit a 3-pointer, leading to a timeout for the Lakers. The nine-time All-Star taunted the crowd and said, “Boom, b***h!” On his way to the Nuggets’ bench, he told the fans to “go home.”

After the game, Davis spoke highly of Westbrook and credited his energy gave the Nuggets the win.
“I mean, just for their team, he brings that energy,” Davis said. “You know how Russ plays; he plays hard and made some shots and some steals. You play how Russ plays; I’m pretty sure those guys know the history with us and probably amped him up a little bit more.”
“But you know, when he comes in the game, he’s very disruptive and brings that juice for them, especially when he’s making plays. So I think that kind of helped them a lot tonight.”

Davis played 35 minutes against the Nuggets. However, he had a poor outing with 14 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. The big man shot 31.6 % from the field and didn’t connect from deep with any of his two attempts from three.
Anthony Davis gets real with his struggles against the Nuggets
Anthony Davis has always performed well against the Denver Nuggets. However, in their first game of the season, Davis wasn’t feeling well and had trouble making baskets. The five-time All-NBA player gave a straightforward explanation for his inability to get things going after the game.
“I just missed shots,” Davis said. “I think all great looks. Miss or make league, I’ll make more than I miss, for sure. You always wish you could make every shot. Confident in every shot I took. Shots that I normally – make all of us, to be honest – shots that we all normally make, we just missed. I like every shot that I took tonight. It just didn’t go in.”
