Minnesota Timberwolves star shooting guard Anthony Edwards can jump out of the gym. He can dunk on anyone, even on towering guys like Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren, who was on the receiving end of Edwards’ absurd vertical wrath on Thursday night in the Twin Cities.
With under five minutes left in the first quarter of the game, Edwards exploded to the rim and tried to finish strong. Holmgren, acting as the last man on defense during that sequence for the Thunder, gave Edwards a challenge but he was a little too late to stop the former Georgia Bulldogs star.

After the game, Edwards shared a post on Instagram showing his wild throwdown against Holmgren and the Thunder with the following caption: Intermission #YearFive

The 23-year-old Edwards was likely referring to the 2025 NBA All-Star break and his playing in his fifth season in the league. In any case, fans have wild reactions to Edwards’ post, with many sharing their take on his latest addition to his ever-growing dunk montage.
“Ant collect bodies like infinity stones”
“Bro wasted no time posting the dunk 😂🔥”
“Nothing prettier than a clean baptism 🤝”
“ahhh having Chet’s #7 ready in the commercial before you even did it is wild😮”
“When tf are they gonna learn. don’t jump 🥷🏻”
Anthony Edwards, Timberwolves take down Thunder before NBA All-Star break

Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves also had the last laugh against Oklahoma City, as they came away with a 116-101 victory. Edwards had 23 points, seven assists and seven rebounds. While he shot just 5-for-18 from the field and 3-for-12 from deep, he went 10-for-11 from the free-throw line in 36 minutes of action.
Although the Timberwolves will be on break to give way to the All-Star festivities, Edwards will still be a little busy, as he’s going to be part of the 2025 NBA All-Star Game.
