Anthony Edwards gave his honest reaction regarding the miraculous three-pointer made by his teammate, Stephen Curry, at the gold medal match between Team USA and France. When the veteran Warrior made the shot, the Timberwolves All-Star gave him nothing but praise.
Steph Curry launched an Instagram Live after the match against France. Next to him was Anthony Edwards. The two-time NBA All-Star gave hilarious feedback about the four-time NBA Champion’s clutch shot.
“Hey, that n***a shot that ball with two people. I’m on the bench like, hold on, I know he hot, but hey, buddy just [shot it].”
In two minutes in the final quarter, Curry made four three-pointers. One was when he made his final shot from downtown with 36 seconds left. Nicolas Batum and Evan Fournier guarded him at that time. That shot by the 36-year-old Warrior shattered the chances for Team France to attempt to make a comeback.
Anthony Edwards even joked that Curry should’ve taunted the defenders after the shot. Nevertheless, the 2024 NBA Clutch Player of the Year felt unique about the experience of finally having his first Olympic gold medal.
“We’re about to go out and get our gold medal. This is the one and done, baby. Gold medal. You do it like that.”
Curry thanked the fans of Team USA for their never-ending support.
“Appreciate all the love, appreciate all the support, everybody who texted, everybody who posted, everybody who tapped in, watched USA all the way.”
Team USA got its fifth consecutive gold medal after defeating Team France again. They also fought against each other in the finals back in Tokyo. Like previously, today’s match was also close, thanks to the contributions of France’s Victor Wembanyama and Evan Fournier.
However, the European powerhouses’ efforts ultimately became futile, thanks to the hot hands of Stephen Curry, who led the team in shooting. He got 24 points, five assists, and two steals. Meanwhile, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Devin Booker have double-digit points.
Anthony Edwards is a great contributor to Team USA.
Despite having a short performance against France, Anthony Edwards has still significantly aided the victories of the NBA-filled American powerhouse. He carried the team in their match against Puerto Rico, where he got 26 points, three assists, and three rebounds in just 17 minutes.
Edwards’s first Olympic gold medal is from the 2024 Olympics. He’s still very young, but he can contribute many more times in the following international competitions for Team USA.
