Anthony Edwards is on a heater. The Minnesota Timberwolves electric shooting guard was incredible Tuesday night against the Dallas Mavericks at home, as Edwards exploded for a game-high 37 points on 12-for-20 shooting from the field.
That covered his 7-for-13 shooting from behind the arc. Edwards’ superb night from deep versus Dallas can’t be called a fluke, as he’s been shooting that well from long range since the start of the 2024-25 NBA season.
In fact, he just joined Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry in an extremely exclusive group in NBA history.

The only players in NBA history to record 5+ 3PM in four straight games to start a season:
Steph Curry (2018)
Anthony Edwards (This Season)
Anthony Edwards is shooting a lot more threes in the 2024-25 season
Edwards appears to be making a concerted effort to shoot threes this season. He had never recorded a 3-point attempt rate higher than 48.4 percent in any of his first four seasons in the NBA. But so far in the 2024-25 campaign, Edwards has a 3-point attempt rate of 58.9 percent. Through four games, Edwards has connected on 41.4 percent of his 3-point shots, making 5.5 of his 13.3 3-point tries per contest.
Unfortunately for Edwards, his excellent individual performance against the Mavs did not translate into a victory, as the Timberwolves lost that game, 120-114.
Minnesota, which is now at 2-2, will aim to get back in the win column with a home game this coming Friday against Russell Westbrook and the Denver Nuggets.
