The Atlanta Hawks have won their third straight game and improved to 17-15 with a 120-110 victory over the Heat. The difference was the Hawks bench, which got contributions from Hawks shooting guard Garrison Matthews, small forward DeAndre Hunter, and power forward Larry Nance Jr.
Though the Hawks led for most of the game, they never could make a break, and it wasn’t until money time that the game finally turned in favor of the locals. Young Hawks point guard Trae had an impact on the game with his playmaking despite not shooting the ball well.
Jalen’s performance against Miami
Hawks power forward Jalen Johnson had 28 points on 13/20 FG with 13 rebounds and five assists. He’s already had more 20-point games this season than in his first three years combined.
Johnson is averaging 20 PPG, 10.4 RPG and 5.5 APG this season. He’s on pace to become the youngest forward in NBA history to average 20/10/5.
Jalen Johnson’s production
He had eight double-doubles in his last nine games. Jalen Johnson is one of the few players on the Atlanta Hawks to average 20 or more points per game besides Trae Young and DeAndre Hunter.
This was a great win by the Hawks at home against Miami, with a great version of their future star in Jalen Johnson. His all-around play is a big reason why the Hawks are 6th in the East.
