For Atlanta Hawks star point guard Trae Young, the Fourth of July fireworks happen in the gym.
Young posted a selfie on Thursday showing him flexing his bicep.
“Ain’t skipping case a holiday?!?” Young wrote on his Instagram Story post.
Young has been the subject of numerous trade rumors this offseason but he doesn’t seem to be bothered by all the speculations going around in the league. At the end of the day, he can only focus on things he can control, and that includes beefing up for another NBA season.
What’s next for Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young?

Young and the Hawks missed the playoffs last season after putting together just a 36-46 record. The former Oklahoma Sooners star only played in 54 games that campaign and averaged 25.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 10.8 assists. He shot just 43.0 percent from the field, so accuracy is something that he should also be focusing on in the summer. He was a decent 37.3 percent shooter from behind the arc last season though.
There is no telling for certain which team will Young suit up for at the start of the 2024-25 NBA regular season given the trade rumors. In any case, he’ll still be earning a lot of money for the next couple of years at least. He will be pocketing $43 million in the coming season and over $45 million more in the 2025-26 season. Young also has a player option worth $48.9 million for the 2026-27 campaign.
