Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Week 20 of the 2024-25 NBA campaign.

Young led the Hawks to a 3-1 record in Week 20, averaging 24.5 points and 13.0 assists per game. The four-time NBA All-Star had the unenviable job of shouldering the heavy load, as the Atlanta Hawks dealt with injuries and incorporated new players on the team, such as Georges Niang, Caris LeVert, and Terance Mann.
Atlanta are on a three-game winning streak after back-to-back wins over the Indiana Pacers and a Monday night victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Atlanta Hawks improved to a 31-34 record – good for seventh in the Eastern Conference.
Atlanta Hawks News: Trae Young draws huge shoutout from head coach Quin Snyder
Atlanta Hawks head coach Quin Snyder was not surprised to see Trae Young win the Eastern Conference Player of the Week award because he played an unselfish brand of basketball.

“First of all, obviously we’re all excited for him to receive that recognition. In my mind, it’s about the way that he’s playing. It’s about how he’s playing that I think is really significant,” Snyder said about Young via ClutchPoints’ Malik Brown.
“The things that he’s doing, the reads that he’s making, the unselfishness, the efficiency, all those things that have been a point of emphasis for him throughout the course of the year. But to be recognized for how he’s playing and what he’s doing on the court, he’s being rewarded for something that we all appreciate,” he added.
