Austin Reaves wore pink shoes in the game against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, and apparently there’s a good reason for that. According to ‘Lakers Nation’ on X, the Lakers guard chose that specific color as a gender reveal for his brother, Spencer Reaves, who announced that he and his wife are expecting a baby sometime back.
To solidify the theory, Spencer Reaves himself responded to the tweet by Lakers Nation from his X account and remarked that he did not expect his brother to do that. He also theorized that Austin Reaves might have gotten Luka Doncic on board as well. However, that assumption can be squashed since Doncic wore red shoes in the game.
“Appreciate you! We didn’t know Austin would be so pumped to do this. He’s known for weeks. Maybe he got Luka on board as well with his shoes tonight.” Spencer Reaves responded to Lakers Nation’s tweet on X.

Austin Reaves indeed comes from a basketball family. Both his father and mother played college basketball for the Arkansas State Red Wolves. Spencer Reaves played college basketball for North Greenville and Central Missouri. Spencer also played for Spain’s Juaristi ISB and Germany’s Rasta Vechta.
