Bam Adebayo was frustrated when his teammate Terry Rozier III snatched the ball from him during their game against the Golden State Warriors. Minutes left in the fourth quarter, the Miami Heat star is on his way to gaining a double-double by securing his tenth rebound. However, Rozier stole the possession for himself, denying Adebayo the ball.
The incident sparked a confrontation between Adebayo and Rozier. In the clip on the Instagram page House of Highlights, the former said, “D**n it, Terry,” as his teammate ran through the court.
Bam Adebayo recalled the lost chance for a double-double when he shared the clip in his story, captioning: “Ima beat ya a** @rozier.”
Nevertheless, the Heat left the court positively, dominating the Warriors in the Tuesday showdown, 114-98. Adebayo significantly helped his team with 19 points, nine rebounds, and five assists in 30 minutes. Meanwhile, Rozier got nine points, five rebounds, and five assists in 32 minutes.
The match also snapped Miami’s three-game losing skid, their 18-17 standing, landing them in the seventh spot in the East.
Bam Adebayo averages 16.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists this season. He ensures that the Heat remains stable as their superstar, Jimmy Butler, faces significant issues with the team’s organization and is suspended for seven matches after requesting a trade.
The Heat will face the Utah Jazz next on January 10.
Bam Adebayo candidly reacts to Miami Heat-Jimmy Butler drama
Bam Adebayo shared his honest reaction amidst the ongoing drama between the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler, culminating in the team’s suspension of Butler after desiring to switch teams.
Per the interview with Miami Herald’s Anthony Chiang, Adebayo disclosed his disappointment in the confrontation between Butler and the Heat. Despite the drama, the team captain assured them they would focus on the following games and how to win them.
“It’s disappointing when you see the organization and a player going head to head like that,” Adebayo said.
“But the rest of us got to figure out how to win games. So for me as captain, it’s worrying about the other guys and getting them locked in and ready to go to try to compete and win a game.”
Bam Adebayo and Butler had been teammates at the Heat for five seasons, including two finals appearances. They had been the team’s leaders but also focused on improving their supporting cast. As his partner is out of the court, Adebayo reinforces his role as the captain as he leads Miami and hopefully garners them a better standing.
