Former President Barack Obama and President Donald Trump were compared by a former NBA star, in light of the two figures’ AI-generated photo imagining them as the Pope of the Catholic Church.
Over at Instagram, former Washington Wizards power forward Etan Thomas shared AI-generated photos of both Barack Obama and President Donald Trump imagined as Popes, and got honest about what he thinks people’s reaction would be if Obama posted the same thing as Trump.
“Both MAGA and Catholics here and abroad would’ve simultaneously had a whole entire collective conniption fit if President Obama would’ve tweeted this right after the Pope passed away,” he said.

Rumors about Barack Obama returning to politics have resurfaced, particularly after discussions surrounding Donald Trump’s potential third-term aspirations sparked speculation online. The hashtag #Obama2028 trended on social media, with users jokingly suggesting that if Trump were to push for an extended presidency, Obama might also consider a return.
While the 22nd Amendment prevents former presidents from serving more than two terms, the conversation highlighted ongoing debates about constitutional limits and political influence. Despite the buzz, Obama has not publicly expressed any interest in running for office again, maintaining his post-presidency focus on activism, leadership programs, and global initiatives.

Beyond the presidency, Obama has remained engaged in political advocacy, particularly through efforts like the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), which aims to combat gerrymandering and promote fair elections. His involvement in these initiatives has led some to believe he could take on a more active role in shaping the Democratic Party’s future, though not necessarily as a candidate.
Michelle Obama Dispels Barack Obama Divorce Rumors
There have been persistent rumors about Barack and Michelle Obama‘s relationship, but Michelle has repeatedly shut them down. Speculation resurfaced in 2025 after she skipped Donald Trump’s second inauguration and President Jimmy Carter’s funeral, leading some to believe there were marital issues. However, Michelle addressed the rumors in multiple interviews.
“If I were having problems with my husband, everybody would know about it,” she said in a recent interview. “I would be problem-solving in public. I’m not a martyr.”

Michelle also acknowledged that marriage is hard, but she and Barack remain committed to making it work. She explained that their differences strengthen their relationship, and despite challenges, they have never considered quitting on each other.

Barack Obama dn his wife Michelle have been married since 1992, and they continue to demonstrate a strong partnership built on mutual respect and understanding.
