Barack Obama, former US President, congratulated Paige Bueckers and the rest of the UConn Huskies after winning the NCAA Championship over the weekend. The UConn Huskies were crowned NCAA champions after defeating the South Carolina Gamecocks with an astounding 82-59 final score.
The UConn Huskies were led in offense by Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd who each put up 24 points for the team, while Paige Bueckers added another 17 points. Strong also managed to grab 15 rebounds for the UConn Huskies, leading the team in this category, while assisting five times, the highest for the squad in this area as well.
“Congratulations to Coach Auriemma, Paige Bueckers, Sarah Strong, Azzi Fudd and all the Huskies for winning the NCAA Championship!” Former US President Barack Obama tweeted from his X account after the UConn Huskies won the NCAA Championship.
The win against the South Carolina Gamecocks was indeed historic for the UConn Huskies as it was their first win since 2016. In this college basketball season, the team has been led in battle mainly by Paige Bueckers, while Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd follow her in the list.
Barack Obama has been an ardent fan of basketball and has been quite open about his love for the sport even before he became president. In fact, Obama is also an apt basketball player and has not shied away from dunking spectacular buckets from time to time, much to the delight of his fans and supporters.

Barack Obama Names Michael Jordan To Dream Team
Barack Obama was asked last year about his dream basketball team and had an interesting combination for the top five. In a promotional video for a show on Netflix, Obama was quizzed about who he would pick as his top five, to which he named legendary Chicago Bulls player, Michael Jordan as the shooting guard.

The former POTUS also went on to say that he would place Los Angeles Lakers star, LeBron James at forward and Steph Curry at his side. Obama reasoned that the game was in its three-point era, and Curry would be fantastic for the team in terms of shooting. He further went on to state that Golden State Warriors power forward, Steph Curry, was easily the ‘greatest shooter’ of all time.

Barack Obama also chose Hakeem Olajuwon for the center and Kevin Durant to fill up the last. Obama was sure that his top five would manage to beat everyone else in the NBA, past, present or the future.
