Barack Obama is still aiming to contribute to America’s development even after his presidential term has come to an end. ‘The Obama Presidential Center’ on the south side of Chicago is one of the former US President’s dream projects in a bid to empower the community. The center is still not complete, and donations are still being accepted.
The Obama Presidential Center is being built on a total area of about 19 acres and will house a number of facilities, including a museum, a library, a fruit and vegetable garden and even a world-class basketball court. Former WNBA player Candace Parker had plenty to say about what The Obama Foundation is doing in terms of sports empowerment through their new center.
“March Madness is here, and to me, it’s a reminder of how powerful basketball is — on and off the court. Whether you’re watching the tournament or playing a pick-up game, there’s something special about how sports brings people together, challenges us, and inspires us to be better. That’s why I’m so excited about what the Obama Foundation is doing with the Obama Presidential Center on the South Side of Chicago. Along with a museum, the Obamas are building Home Court, an athletic center that will provide young people in the community with the resources and space they need to learn, grow, and play. It’s about more than just basketball; it’s about creating opportunities for the next generation.” Candace Parker posted on her Instagram, along with pictures of the facility, and her posing next to former US President Barack Obama.

The Obama Presidential Center is indeed a community project, with various citizens pitching in with money, kind and effort. The museum also includes a number of exhibits, including a spectacular ‘Power of Words’ exhibit which features many statements from Obama’s campaign and speeches as president.

Barack Obama’s March Madness Favorites, South Carolina, Head To Sweet 16
Barack Obama has always been a major basketball fan. In this crazy March Madness season, the former US President has picked the South Carolina Gamecocks women’s team and the Duke Blue Devils men’s team to win the championship. Barack Obama is definitely a South Carolina fan and picked the team in the previous NCAA season as well.

Barack Obama’s pick, the South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the Indiana Hoosiers some time back in the second round of the NCAA tournament and are heading to the Sweet 16 round to take on the Maryland Terrapins this weekend.
