Boston Celtics: Al Horford Has Hilarious Blooper on His 1st NBA Championship Ring [VIDEO]

Everything went well for the Boston Celtics during their ring ceremony up to that time the buzzer sounded in their opening game against the New York Knicks. Not for Al Horford though.

Many Celtics players opened their season wearing their shining NBA Championship ring after they were honored at the TD Garden Arena for bagging the organization’s 18th title, the most by any team in league history.

After that, they went on to beat the new-look New York Knicks who never even got their rhythm throughout the game. To make it taste sweeter, they even tied the most number of made 3-point field goals in a single game.

Horford, however, had a different start. And it is his own fault. His NBA ring, something he waited for for 17 years, did not fit his finger.

“I got the measurements all wrong, it’s like way too big” 😂

Horford got a ring that was too big for his ring finger. Turned out, it was because he dislocated his finger during the playoffs and it was still swelling when he took the measurements.

The Celtics probably have the budget to refit his ring. After all, Horford is among the most deserving of such championship symbol. Before beating Dallas Mavericks in the NBA finals, the Dominican center was the player with the most playoff appearances without a ring.

Al Horford, Boston Celtics left amazed by presence of C greats

All the hardwork made by Horford and the rest of the Celtics finally paid off and they are not yet done.

On the night they were honored, they also found more inspiration in the presence of Boston Celtics greats who were at the arena to cheer them on.

Horford thought continuing the winning legacy of Celtics is a responsibility.

“When I saw Cousy, Cedric Maxwell, and then KG, Paul, and Ray… man, these are legends. There’s a responsibility. There’s the Celtics legacy.”

For Brown, it felt like they are receiving the torch.

“What an incredible night. The aura in the arena was amazing, having the legendary Celtics in the building… It’s almost like they were passing the torch… I said I would go to war for this city and it was great to watch that banner getting raised.”
