Boston Celtics star Derrick White was involved in a heated confrontation during a football match between the Colorado Buffaloes and the Colorado State Rams last weekend. After frenzied trash talks between White, supporting the former and the latter’s fans, it quickly escalated to a full-scale physical confrontation that caused an uproar inside the field.
White, who played college basketball at Colorado University, peacefully spectated as he supported his former university’s football team playing at their opponent’s home court at the Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado.
According to testimony, tensions rose as White verbally exchanged with the Colorado State Rams fans during the second quarter. That time, the Celtics point guard’s favored team bounced back against the Rams from a lousy first quarter.

The Buffaloes secured their dominance in the said match by not giving their opponents even one point in both the second and third quarters. The conflict between White and the Rams’ fans worsened at that point.
A man from the Rams’ side attempted to assault the NBA star, swerving his hand and hitting the Celtics star’s head. The other fans immediately stopped him. White tried to respond, but he was also controlled.
The incident caught the attention of almost the whole stadium, who quickly went to stop the perpetrator. Law enforcement promptly arrived in the area to prevent further provocations between him and White.
TMZ Sports captured the skirmish between Derrick White and the fan. Both sides had never filed any lawsuits after the incident, and White has yet to respond to the media’s questions.
The incident quickly became viral across X/Twitter. Many condemned the fans’ actions against White, a player not known for being involved in dirty physicalities inside the NBA. The incident was overall light, and the Celtics star hasn’t acquired any notable injuries.

The Boston Celtics attempt to acquire a young free-agent
After gaining another NBA championship last season, the Boston Celtics plan to acquire another battle-hardened player.
The Boston Celtics are reported to work out on former Pheonix Suns forward Nassir Little and other teams in the league.
Little played 45 games for the Suns last season, averaging 3.4 points and 1.7 rebounds. He got to play in the playoffs but exited early.
During the offseason, Little has established relations with the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, and the Sacramento Kings.
The Celtics are looking for talented young players and could attempt to contact Little and acquire him for the team.
