Team USA was embroiled in controversy when they selected Boston Celtics guard Derrick White to replace an injured Kawhi Leonard ahead of the Paris Olympics. The decision by Grant Hill and co. upset Jaylen Brown, although the reigning Eastern Conference and Finals MVP reiterated that he doesn’t have a problem with White’s call-up.

In a recent interview by The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach, Derrick White confirmed that he had talks with Jaylen Brown, saying that he and his Boston Celtics teammate are all good.
“Jaylen gave me a call and I was like, ‘Yeah, you didn’t need to call me. I know we’re good,’” White said. “He gave me a call and said he just wanted to clear things up and I told him we’re all good. Never any problem or issue with us, for sure. He’s a hell of a player and I’ve never had a bad thing to say about JB.”

Both guards will remain teammates for the foreseeable future, as White recently agreed to a four-year, $125.9 million extension and Brown is entering the second year of his five-year, $303.7 million contract he signed last year.
Boston Celtics’ Jrue Holiday and Derrick White shine for Team USA vs. Serbia
Jrue Holiday was inserted in the starting lineup alongside LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Devin Booker, and Steph Curry. The 34-year-old played nearly 24 minutes, recording 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
White came off the bench to compile two points, two steals, one rebound, and one assist in 16 minutes of action in the 110-84 victory.

Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum has been mercilessly roasted on social media for not playing a single minute against Serbia. Head coach Steve Kerr vowed to play the Boston Celtics star in Team USA’s upcoming game against South Sudan.
