Without a doubt, the duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum is the key that makes the Boston Celtics’ offense work. And according to NBA legend Kevin Garnett, a Game 3 moment between the two All-Stars’ best exemplified the amazing partnership between the two.

In the most recent game between Boston and the Cleveland Cavaliers in their series, it was the former that went home with the 106-93 win over the latter. Tatum had a stellar showing when he dropped 33 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists. Brown was effective on the floor when he made 28 points on 76 percent shooting from the field and 66 percent from deep. Jrue Holiday contributed 18 points, eight rebounds, and five assists as the Celtics take the lead in their series.

For his part, All-Star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell finished the game with 33 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Evan Mobley played his part well as Jarrett Allen missed another game by notching 17 points and eight rebounds. Furthermore, Darius Garland and Caris LeVert added 15 points each.

The victory helped Boston secure the lead and get the momentum in the series at the same time. The Cavaliers, on the other hand, need to work harder and win the following games if they don’t want to see their season end earlier than expected.

At some point during Game 3, Brown saw Tatum dejected on the court. In response, he motivated the All-Star forward with choice words to bring back the fire to him. As a result, NBA legend and franchise great Kevin Garnett praised the two for this moment in a video he shared on X:

This it right here! Keep it fun but about business 🤝🏾🔥💯 https://t.co/3ZfsxdaHjb

    — Kevin Garnett (@KevinGarnett5KG) May 12, 2024

Garnett is known as one of fiercest competitors and best trash talkers throughout league history. After spending his first 12 seasons playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves, the 15-time All-Star signed with the Boston Celtics and won his only ring there.

The Celtics need two more games to close out the Cavaliers. If they do so without Cleveland extending, they’d be primed and prepared to make the Conference Finals in the best condition possible.
