Boston Celtics swingman Jaylen Brown further solidified his Finals MVP claim after another massive performance in their team’s 106-99 Game 3 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
Jaylen Brown had 30 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists on 12-of-22 shooting from the field in 41 minutes of action, including a game-high 15 points in the third period when the Boston Celtics built a huge lead.
The reigning Eastern Conference Finals MVP also made, arguably, the biggest play in the final period when he drew a blocking foul on Luka Doncic with 4:12 remaining, which was the Slovenian’s sixth and disqualifying foul.
Jaylen Brown has been the Boston Celtics’ most consistent player in the Finals, averaging 24.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game on 55.1 percent shooting from the field.

According to Stathead on X (formerly known as Twitter), Jaylen Brown became the first Boston Celtics player since John Havlicek in 1968 to record at least 30 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists in an NBA Finals game.
Earlier in this series, Jaylen Brown was the first player since Tim Duncan in 2003 to record at least three blocks and three steals in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
In the said NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers in 1968, John Havlicek had two such performances to help the Boston Celtics win the series in six games.
The eight-time NBA champion had 31 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists in their 120-117 Game 5 win, and he followed it up with 40 points, 10 rebounds, and seven rebounds in their 124-109 Game 6 victory.
