Boston Celtics: Jaylen Brown Sends Clear Message to Team After Another Brutal Collapse in Game 2

Jaylen Brown believes the Boston Celtics can still make it a competitive series against the New York Knicks after they dropped the first two games at TD Garden.

Games 1 and 2 ended in eerily similar fashion, as the Boston Celtics squandered a 20-point advantage, with Mikal Bridges stealing the ball in the final possession to give the New York Knicks the victory.

“Being down 2-0 sucks, but we got a great group, and if I had to select any guys that get it done, it’s the group that we have in our locker room,” Brown said via SB Nation’s Noa Dalzell. “We just got to come out a little bit more poised, take a deep breath, convert offensive rebounds — we missed lay-ups, some easy baskets. Let it sting for a night. But, tomorrow’s a new day. We move forward.”

The Boston Celtics are banking on the fact that they finished the 2024-25 regular season with the league’s best road record (33-8). The team has been in this situation before when they fought back from a 0-2 deficit against the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the 2017 playoffs.

Boston Celtics News: TD Garden was evacuated due to a fire incident after Game 2 loss

Following the Game 2 loss, players, media members, team personnel, and fans were temporarily evacuated from TD Garden due to a fire incident. According to Zack Cox of the Boston Herald, the fire alarm went off because of a fire in an elevator shaft.

The TD Garden got things under control, and they eventually issued an official statement about the incident via SB Nation’s Noa Dalzell on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“Fire alarm went off tonight post game and arena was evacuated. No one was injured. The cause of the fire alarm is currently under investigation,” the statement read.
