Everything is going well for Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum.
His team won their first NBA title since 2008, and they did so in a pretty convincing fashion. He’s also balling as a part of Team USA, though he invited controversy by saying his Celtics could take down a team full of star players.

Controversial comments aside, you can tell that Tatum is enjoying his basketball, and it doesn’t seem like anything can stop the good times from happening to him and his team.
His year continues to get better as he gets named as he’s recently been added to an exclusive list of NBA stars.
Jayson Tatum named cover athlete of NBA 2K25

NBA 2K25 is a long-running basketball simulation franchise that almost every NBA fan buys at launch. It offers players a chance to either take over their favorite teams and take them to the NBA Finals or become a player and ball against the game’s best athletes.
Such a successful franchise always has plenty of eyes trained on it, and the athletes that grace its cover are always considered to be some fo the best the game has to offer.
NBA 2K’s official social media page revealed who the cover athletes are, and it’s quite a reveal:

While Tatum will grace the NBA version of 2K25, A’ja Wilson will take her spot for the WNBA version. Stephen Dove of Games Latest News provided a beautiful rundown of Wilson’s career:
For the WNBA Edition, we have Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson, a back-to-back WNBA champion and two-time MVP. Wilson’s inclusion highlights the growing prominence of women’s basketball in the gaming world.
The Legends Edition will feature Vince Carter, one of the most electrifying dunkers the league has ever seen.
Will the Boston Celtics be able to repeat their 2024 feats?

While Jayson Tatum is having the time of his life, he cannot deny that there’s a bigger target on their backs.
The C’s were simply too much for most of the teams in the Eastern Conference, which forced them to beef up.
However, the Celtics will remain the top dog as long as Tatum plays to his expected standards. He was unguardable last season, finishing the regular season with 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. He was also efficient on the floor with a 47.1%/37.6%/83.3% shooting clip.
If he and Jaylen Brown continue to show out for the Celtics, there’s no reason why they wouldn’t return to the Finals next year.
