Boston Celtics‘ star Jayson Tatum left their Monday game against the Sacramento Kings after he rolled his ankle when he shot a 3-pointer during the third quarter. Unfortunately, Tatum landed awkwardly on the foot of Domantas Sabonis and was on the ground for a good amount of time grabbing his ankle. He eventually got up and didn’t need much assistance as he walked around the arena.
Tatum also shot his free throw, as he drew the shooting foul on Sabonis during the play, which was a good sign for Celtics fans. On their upcoming game against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, the six-time All-Star is listed as doubtful because of a left ankle sprain.

According to Jay King of The Athletic, fans shouldn’t be concerned about Tatum missing a significant amount of time despite the slight setback for the reigning champions. He discussed the positive signs that his injury isn’t as severe as people initially believed when he was a guest on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back” show.
“Great sign that he was able to take the free throws, that he was walking around under his own power, that it — he didn’t need crutches or anything like that walking out of the gym,” King said. “I don’t think it’s too concerning. He also has — had a history of durability.
LeBron’s ability to avoid serious injury is unparalleled, but if anyone comes close in that regard, it’s Jayson Tatum 👀

King went as far as to compare the four-time All-NBA to LeBron James, who’s widely known for his durability.
“He’s kinda like — I don’t want to compare anyone to LeBron James in any way. But LeBron can just shrug off his injuries that impact a lot of people. And Tatum, a lot of time, he rolls his ankle, you think he might be out for weeks and then he kind of comes beack quickly.”
The Boston Celtics star assured fans that he’ll be “alright” despite the injury

Likely, Tatum won’t appear for a few games for the Boston Celtics as he nurses his ankle injury. Although there isn’t any timetable for his return to the hardwood, the star forward is feeling optimistic.
He appeared as a guest on “New Heights,” a podcast hosted by NFL brothers Jason and Travis Kelce. During his guest appearance, the forward gave an assuring update regarding the condition of his injured ankle.
“I’m feeling good, man,” Tatum said. “It’s a few benefits to being 27. You recover a little bit faster. I’ll be alright.“
Ohhhhh to be young 😅

Tatum hasn’t seen any major setbacks in his early career, which is usually excellent news for his supporters and the team. Aside from the 2020–21 season, which was cut short to 72 games due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the Boston Celtics star has also consistently played at least 65 games per year.
