Before joining the Boston Celtics via the 2017 NBA Draft, Jayson Tatum had his whole life plan mapped out, as revealed on his now-viral Instagram story last night.

In his post, Jayson Tatum’s goals when he was in 4th grade were to attend one year at Ohio State University, have two kids named Justin and Nichole, live and play for the Phoenix Suns for six years, get traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, play for Team USA in the Olympics, and help the less fortunate.
Fast forward to today, and Jayson Tatum has ticked some boxes on his bucket list back then. However, he played for Duke and has a son named Deuce. He is also unlikely to play for the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers anytime soon after signing a massive five-year, $315 million extension with the Boston Celtics this summer.

Perhaps the most important box he has ticked was his prediction on giving back to the community and children in need, as he has built the Jayson Tatum Foundation. Since its inception, the foundation has partnered with several local organizations in St. Louis and Boston to hold numerous charity events.

2024 Finals MVP Jaylen Brown was notably snubbed from Team USA, although there’s a slight chance he might get a call-up, depending on Kevin Durant’s health.
Team USA has already played tune-up games against Canada and Australia, winning both games. Up next for the Americans is Serbia on Wednesday.
