Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum vowed to be better after his team dropped the first two home games in their second-round best-of-seven series against the New York Knicks.

In the first two games of this series, Tatum averaged 18.0 points, 15.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.5 steals on a woeful 28.6 percent shooting from the field and 25.0 percent from three-point range.
“I take full ownership of the way that I’ve played in this series and can’t sugarcoat anything,” Tatum said via ESPN’s Brian Windhorst. “I need to be better, and I expect to be a lot better.”

“Guys work really hard on their game and their craft and prepare to be in those moments to hit open shots, and it just hasn’t happened the last two games,” he continued about the Boston Celtics’ paltry offense. “But you can’t lose your confidence.”
Boston Celtics News: Joe Mazzulla sends clear message to team ahead of Game 3
Game 3 is a must-win for the Boston Celtics since no one has successfully rallied from a 0-3 deficit. Despite the 0-2 hole heading into Saturday, head coach Joe Mazzulla relishes the challenge of making a comeback.

“You can’t just have a pride and entitlement that we’re holier than thou, that we’re not allowed to be down 0-2,” Mazzulla said via SB Nation’s Noa Dalzell. “It’s the situation that we’re in. So we have to have an understanding of why we’re in it, and we gotta fix it.”
“These moments are all forgotten if you transition them into taking advantage of the opportunity that you have. If you don’t, then you have to use it as an opportunity for the journey that you’re on,” he added.
