The Boston Celtics fumbled a 22-point lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers, leading the latter to get a big win over them. After the game, Jayson Tatum shared his thoughts about the final shot he took and why the referees made a wrong call about it.
In that game, the Cavaliers came out on top of Boston with a score of 105-104. The Cavaliers were led from the bench by Dean Wade, who scored 20 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Donovan Mitchell sat out due to a knee injury.

On the other side of the fence, Tatum dropped 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Celtics in the losing effort. Kristaps Porzingis added 24 points and nine rebounds, while Jaylen Brown made 21 points and four assists.
In the end, Tatum had a chance to win the game but was initially fouled by Darius Garland as he was taking the shot. The call was then overturned and deemed a no-foul after the referees reviewed the play, leading Cleveland to go home with the win.
Jayson Tatum Reveals His Feelings Over Cleveland Cavaliers’ Win Over Boston Celtics

Naturally, Tatum was frustrated over Boston’s loss and how they allowed a huge lead to evaporate right before their very eyes. In a post by Noa Dalzell on X, the All-Star forward shared his thoughts about what happened:
Jayson Tatum said he probably should have gone faster on the last play:
“Thought I got fouled, but they didn’t think I got fouled. It’s tough, because we would have had the tip-in… but they always say the game isn’t won or lost on the last play.”

Tatum followed up about what the Celtics have to do after their loss to Cleveland.
Jayson Tatum on the team’s mentality:
“Just hope to bounce back from tonight. There’s a lot of things we know we can clean up… This year we’ve done a really good job of responding, so I look forward to us responding and playing better on Thursday.”

Even with that loss, the Celtics remain on top of the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are in third place, just behind the Milwaukee Bucks.

As the playoff race gets more competitive, expect more intense games in the coming weeks. This will be true for Boston and every other team in the NBA.
