The Boston Celtics hope to get some good news on the injury front as they prepare for their second-round series against the New York Knicks.

During a recent media session, Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla shared a huge update on Jrue Holiday, who has missed the team’s final three playoff matches against the Orlando Magic.
“Day-to-day. Just getting better every day, doing whatever he can to make sure he puts himself in a position to come back as fast as he can. He’s working hard,” Mazzulla said about Holiday via SB Nation’s Noa Dalzell.

Holiday has been an important piece for the Boston Celtics, though they have fared well without him so far. The two-time NBA champion averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.1 steals on 44.3 percent shooting from the field across 62 starts in the regular season.
Boston Celtics News: Jrue Holiday wins the NBA’s Sportsmanship Award
Jrue Holiday recently received the Joe Dumars trophy for winning the 2024-25 NBA Sportsmanship Award. Introduced in 1995-96, the award honors the NBA player who “best represents the ideals of sportsmanship on the court.”

He is the first Boston Celtics player to receive the award and is only the fifth player in league history to win it at least twice, joining Mike Conley, Grant Hill, Jason Kidd, and Kemba Walker.
This is his second after winning his first in 2021 with the Milwaukee Bucks. Holiday has also won the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award three times in his career (2020, 2022, and 2024) and is a 2024-25 NBA Social Justice Champion Award finalist.
