Even without their top two players, the Boston Celtics found a way to defeat the Brooklyn Nets at TD Garden in Boston on Tuesday night, 104-96. Missing the services of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Boston leaned on its depth to outlast the Nets.
Kristaps Porzingis led the Celtics with 25 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the field to go with 13 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and a steal. It was his fourth double-double of at least 20 points in the 2024-25 NBA regular season.
In addition, the Latvian star put himself in an extremely exclusive all-time NBA club, as he recorded enough blocks in the win over the Nets to make him one of 10 players in the history of the league to have at least 900 career 3-pointers and 900 shot blocks.

Kristaps Porziņģis is now just 1 of 10 players to record 900 blocks and 900 3-pointers in their career, joining:
Brook Lopez
Rasheed Wallace
Clifford Robinson
Al Horford

Kevin Durant
LeBron James
Scottie Pippen
Shane Battier

Porzingis also got ample support from rookie Baylor Scheierman, who came off the bench and smoked the Nets for 20 points in just 16 minutes of action. While that says a lot about the poor quality of Brooklyn’s defense, it also showed the potential of Scheierman to contribute for the defending champions when given the chance to play.
The Celtics will ride the momentum of their three-game winning streak into a six-game road trip that begins on Friday in Salt Lake City versus the Utah Jazz.
