The Boston Celtics suffered one of their worst results this season against the Detroit Pistons last night, and Kristaps Porzingis was particularly critical of himself in the blowout road defeat.

The one-time NBA All-Star admitted it was one of his worst performances of the 2024-25 season. Porzingis finished the game with 11 points – his second-fewest points this year – two rebounds and three steals on 4-for-11 shooting from the field.
“I was terrible tonight, and we just had a really bad game. We fought, but they were physical and good for them. It was a really important game, they wanted to win it and we battled as strong as we could but we just fell short,” Porzingis told reporters via NESN.

“They were hitting big shots after big shots and we didn’t rebound the ball well, especially myself so I definitely have to take some accountability and be better,” he added.
Boston Celtics prepare for seven-game homestand
The Boston Celtics will return to the TD Garden, where they’ll host the Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz, and Oklahoma City Thunder in the next seven games.

Boston played without Jaylen Brown against Detroit, as the one-time Finals MVP was dealing with a thigh injury. He is questionable to play against Cleveland on Friday.
Jayson Tatum led the Boston Celtics in scoring against the Detroit Pistons in the losing effort, notching 27 points, six rebounds, three assists, and four three-pointers on 10-for-19 shooting from the field.
