In the eyes of many, the Boston Celtics have the 2024 NBA title and banner No. 18 already in the bag. With a 3-0 series lead against the Dallas Mavericks, it’s hard to imagine the Celtics letting Luka Doncic and company steal the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
With that said, the only meaningful item that’s up in the air at the moment is the winner of the 2024 NBA Finals MVP. It would likely come from the Celtics, given their current position. And the top two names are Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.

Fans believe Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown should be 2024 NBA Finals MVP

“Brown right now. I think it also depends how tonight goes as well”
“JB! He been solid the entire time JT just underplaying to expectations but he aint been terrible like everybody want you to think”
“Brown right now, unless he has a terrible game and Tatum drops a 30+ point triple double….”
“DOWNTOWN JAYLEN BROWN BABY”
“Brown, easily.”
“If anybody but Brown wins i’m gonna be very disappointed tbh”
“Brown 100% deserves it but if tatum goes for like 35/12/7 and they win he’s gonna get it”
“Jaylen is the current MVP, I think it would take another huge game from Tatum and a mediocre game from Jaylen to sway it to Tatum”
A majority of fans seem to think that the award should go to Brown, who is leading the Celtics in the finals with 24.3 points per game. He is also shooting 55.1 percent from the field and grabbing 6.0 rebounds and dishing out 5.7 assists. Tatum is second on the team in scoring with 21.7 points per game and is also shooting much worse than Brown, with the former Duke Blue Devils star making only 35.9 percent of his attempts from the floor. At the same time, Tatum is pacing the Celtics in rebounds (8.7) and assists (7.3).
Boston likely doesn’t care who wins the award. What matters for the Celtics the most is the title that they can take home as soon as Game 4 this Friday night in Dallas.
