Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown Claps Back at Grant Hill’s Team USA ‘Conspiracy Theory’ Jab

Just when you thought that the Team USA saga involving Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown was over, a new development has suddenly brought all the drama back to life. This was after USA Basketball managing director Grant Hill took a subtle jab at the reigning NBA Finals MVP — a sleight that Brown just had to respond to.

For starters, it was actually Hill who resurrected the storyline after he pretty much labeled Brown a conspiracy theorist. This was in reference to Brown implying that Nike played a hand in Team USA’s decision to snub him on their Olympics roster.

“I always love a good conspiracy theory but it was really truly a basketball decision,” Hill said (h/t Legion Hoops on X, formerly Twitter).

To be fair, you can’t really blame Hill for taking a swing here. After all, despite Brown not directly calling him out for the controversial decision to snub the Celtics star on the national team’s roster, Brown’s allegations implied that Hill, as the head honcho of USA Basketball, had to be involved somehow.

Brown did not like Hill’s comments one bit. The three-time All-Star took to X to share his brutally honest reaction to the veiled shot.

“Grant Hill calling me a conspiracy theorist is disappointing. I’ve been a VP since I was 21… I have a great understanding,” Brown wrote.

Brown even had to bring out the receipts — at least somewhat — by stating his credentials as the vice president of the NBA Players Association. Apparently, Brown knows a lot of things that happen behind the scenes. It’s just that he’s keeping them all under wraps.
