Jayson Tatum’s Boston Celtics vs. Team USA Claim Sparks Intense Fan Reactions

After winning his first ring, All-Star forward Jayson Tatum is now preparing to help Team USA win the gold in the upcoming Olympics. The thing is, his recent claim that the Boston Celtics can beat the Olympic roster is generating a lot of reactions from fans and some of them aren’t positive at all.

The 2023-24 season marked a significant transition for the Celtics, as they navigated the departure of veteran point guard Marcus Smart, who was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. However, the Celtics quickly retooled their roster, acquiring Kristaps Porziņģis from the Washington Wizards and trading for two-time All-Star guard Jrue Holiday from the Portland Trail Blazers.

Despite the changes, the Celtics continued their dominance, clinching a playoff berth earlier than any other team and winning the Atlantic Division for the third consecutive season. Their 64-18 regular-season record was the best in the NBA, and they secured home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

In the postseason, the Celtics steamrolled through the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Indiana Pacers, setting up a highly anticipated NBA Finals matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. While Porziņģis suffered a rare ankle injury during the series, the Celtics were undeterred, racing to a 3-0 lead and ultimately securing their first championship since 2008. Their defensive prowess was on full display, as they held Luka Doncic and the Mavericks to under 100 points in all four wins, a historic achievement in the NBA Finals.

This championship marks a significant milestone for the Celtics, who have reclaimed their position as one of the league’s elite teams. With their talented core and strategic roster moves, the Celtics have positioned themselves for sustained success in the years to come.

After one of the national team’s practices, Celtics star Jayson Tatum faced Malika Andrews in an interview and answered questions from the reporter. In a video shared by CelticsUnite on X, the All-Star forward made a strong claim about Boston winning against Team USA. As expected, fans expressed their thoughts about Tatum’s opinion by responding to the tweet.

Jayson Tatum when asked if the Celtics would beat Team USA:

“I’m riding with the guys that I just played 10 months of basketball with… I’m taking us against whoever”

“If your star player doesn’t have this type of confidence then he not doing it right,” IM.RILEY said.

“He should have picked team USA over his home team, since country is always greater than a franchise,” Prashanth tweeted.

“As President of the tatum Hate Club HES RIGHT if they played today with barely any practice together they would get smoked – half of team usa been chillin for 3+ months,” Bobby reacted.

“Nigga you on both teams. How you gonna pick one team with you on it over another team with you in it? 🤡🤡,” White Cracka Nigga Jew posted.

“Only Celtics fan would believe this. No way they win one game in a 7 series game against Curry, Edwards, LeBron, KD, Embiid . No matter if they have only played on 2k together,” Se7enRingz shared.

“Only question is would Tatum and holiday be off the team USA if so Celtics in 5 we match up with them and have more chemistry,” Culture101 expressed.

“In 1 game they would bc of chemistry but in a 7 game series no,” Tim mentioned.

Some fans can’t believe Tatum’s claim due to the presence of established legends and up-and-coming stars in Team USA’s roster. Some of these include LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, and Tyrese Haliburton, among others.

The real answer won’t be determined due to the impossibility of setting up such a game. Even if that’s the case, fans will still get to see magic happen with Tatum and company playing for Team USA as they embark on their quest to win gold this year in the Olympics.
