Baylor Scheierman. Remember the name. At least that’s what the internet is telling everyone after the Boston Celtics selected the former Creighton Bluejays star guard-forward Baylor Scheierman as the last pick in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft.
Coming off a dominant run in the 2024 NBA Playoffs that ended with Boston winning the NBA Finals series against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, the Celtics are still looking like a favorite to win it all again in the 2024-25 NBA campaign. That belief seemingly got a boost after the Celtics took Scheierman.

During his five-year college career with the South Dakota State Jackrabbits (three seasons) and Creighton (two seasons), Scheierman averaged 13.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. He connected on 46.1 percent of his field-goal attempts and close to 40 percent of his 3-point tries.
Scheierman also gave a heartfelt message to Celtics fans after Boston took him off the draft board.
“What’s up, Celtics fans? I’m excited to get to Boston and get to work. And help raise that championship Banner #19 and keep Title Town alive. Let’s go, Boston.”
