Tim Hardaway Sr. was mercilessly roasted on social media following his crazy claim about Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis during his latest appearance on The Carton Show.
According to the five-time NBA All-Star, the Boston Celtics are better off without Kristaps Porzingis, which is absurd considering he is one of the team’s best players.
“A lot of people will disagree with me, but I think the Boston Celtics play better without Porzingis in the lineup,” said Hardaway. “I think the ball moves better. They get up and down quicker. They rebound the ball the better. I just think they are a better offensive and defensive team when he’s not on the court.”
Here are some of the reactions to Tim Hardaway Sr’s bold claim:
Kristaps Porzingis has been one of the most impactful players on the Boston Celtics roster, as shown in Game 1, where he lit up the Dallas Mavericks with 20 points, six rebounds, and three blocks while shooting 8-of-13 from the field in 21 minutes off the bench.
The Latvian center followed it up with 12 points, four rebounds, and two blocks on 4-of-7 shooting from the field in Game 2 before he left the game early in the final period after hurting his leg.
Kristaps Porzingis ready to “die out there” for the Boston Celtics
Boston Celtics fans at the TD Garden collectively held their breath when Kristaps Porzingis limped on the court during the fourth quarter of Game 2.
But after the game, Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla brushed off any concerns about Kristaps Porzingis’ health, saying he expects him to play in Game 3 on Wednesday. Porzingis also said the same thing when he was asked about it.
“I feel good. Obviously, something happened a little bit, but we have a couple of days again,” said Porzingis via NBC Sports Boston. “Believe me, we’ll do everything we can to be back and moving well.”
“I’ll die out there if we need. I’ll just keep going. And as I said, I was a little bit limited, so the smart thing was to get Al (Horford) back in there and close out the game,” he added.
