Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James seemed to have gotten a new supporter, as one sports journalist took back his doubts towards the young rookie and praised him for his improvement and show of skills in recent games.
In a new article, The Los Angeles Times columnist Bill Plaschke gave credit to Bronny James, who he p]raised now after casting doubt on him at the start of the season when the young james was first drafted by the Lakers.
“I was wrong. I was very wrong,” Plaschke wrote. “There have been few things more right about this season than the saga of Bronny James.”
“He hasn’t made an NBA impact, but he hasn’t been a distraction, either. Arguably the league’s most disliked and discounted rookie when the season began, he has won over fans, impressed teammates, inspired his father, and silenced the media.”
“Shut me up, anyway, he added. “Bronny James has been their most improved player simply by morphing from a punch line into, well, a player.”
Bronny James faced significant criticism and doubts early in his rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers. As the son of NBA legend LeBron James, Bronny entered the league under immense scrutiny, with many questioning whether his draft selection was influenced by nepotism rather than merit.
Critics pointed to his modest college performance at USC and his selection as the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, arguing that he was not NBA-ready. Despite the doubts, Bronny demonstrated resilience and maturity in handling the criticism. He acknowledged the scrutiny but chose to use it as motivation to improve his game.
