The first round of the 2024 NBA Draft started Wednesday night and Bronny James son of LeBron James was left out of the first round picks. Bronny is looking to see if he gets picked in the second round of the NBA Draft 2024 that starts Thursday afternoon.

Bronny James explained in a press conference after the draft saying “only draft me if you think im good enough.. and not because of my dad (LeBron)”.

Bronny James Looking Ahead into the Second Round of NBA Draft 2024

The pick that might make the most sense for Bronny James in the 55th pick that is held by the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers is the team that LeBron is currently on the roster. James is a free agent this week and might test the waters of free agency.

Bronny only worked out with two teams the Lakers and Suns when he had the opportunity to workout with more teams. However, he doesn’t seem concerned that his name was not called in the first round of the draft.

Bronny James played for Southern California for one year and averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game last season. He played in 25 games, missing the start of the season after needing a procedure last year to fix what was diagnosed with a congential heart condition. This happened during a summer workout when he went into cardiac arrest.

NBA Draft 2024 Second Round Potential Landing Spots

Bronny James only averaged 4.8 points a game during his freshman year in college. That doesn’t exactly scream NBA. On the upside of his chances to get drafted can come in the second round of the draft. The potential landing spots might be between three teams.

The first team is the Los Angeles Lakers with the 55th pick in the second round. The Lakers would look to possibly draft Bronny because of a better fit for the Lakers and Bronny. This would also mean for LeBron James to end his career as a Laker.

The Suns could also draft Bronny and rebuild their franchise. Also the Suns would not have to break the bank with giving him a big contract deal. There is also the possibility LeBron would follow his son to the desert.

The Cavaliers can also land Bronny James and he can be a potential back-up guard to Donovan Mitchell. However, even if it’s a slim chance, the possibility of landing LeBron James in a package deal could lure an organization to swing for the fences on his son earlier than expected.

If the Lakers decide on Bronny James it would be the first father son duo to play on the same team. There has always been players joining the NBA after their fathers have played in the NBA. It would be exciting for the NBA and the Lakers.
