In a complete turn of events, Bronny James seems to have found an ally and a fan in analyst and critic Stephen A. Smith, only less than a week after the latter had an altercation with his father Lebron James on the courtside of one of the Lakers’ recent games.
In one of his recent videos, analyst and known LeBron James critic Skip Bayless invited Stephen A. Smith over and talked about the recent issue that Smith and James had over a courtside altercation about, as it appears right now, Bronny James.

During the conversation, Stephen A. Smith seemed to have lighted up and now expressed hope and support for the young James.
“I personally think that Bronny has potential to be an NBA player,” Smith said.
“With the success that he’s had in the G League and learning the game from the greatest basketball savant of the modern era,” he added. “I got a lot of confidence in him that he will be in the pros someday and that he will deserve it. It’s just that, now, everybody knows what it is for the moment being and some people are more receptive to embracing that than others.”

Skip Bayless himself has been a vocal critic not only of LeBron but also of Bronny James. Earlier this year, he said in one of his videos that he thinks Bronny cannot survive long as an NBA player.
“I’m just not seeing LeBron James Jr. as an NBA player, now or maybe ever,” Skip said. “I kept arguing on television that playing alongside his father would bring out the best in him.”
“The truth is, I saw only one great flash from Bronny. That was in the fourth quarter of the McDonald’s All-Star Game.”
Stephen A. Smith Clarifies: It Was “Never About Bronny James”
In his own video, Stephen A. Smith clarified that the issues between him and LeBron, and his criticism, were never about Bronny James.
“I’ve never, ever, ever been about being critical of Bronny,” Stephen A. said. “I don’t want to have a critical word about Bronny James at this stage of his career. It was never about Bronny. I wouldn’t do that to a kid. It was about his dad. And it wasn’t about his dad wanting him in the NBA. It’s about the things he said. And the things he maneuvered and manipulated in order to get his son to wear the same uniform as him.”
Bronny James himself, so far, has not responded nor commented on any of the ongoing issues.
